My love of labyrinths recently took me to a beautiful spot in nature just 30 minutes from home, Green Lane Pennsylvania!
I am a member of the Labyrinth Society and often go on the website to keep up to date on events and happenings in the labyrinth world. This particular visit to the website brought me to discover FernRock Retreat.
John and Sandy Drescher-Lehman of FernRock Retreat generously invite the public to walk the labyrinth on their property four times a year. My husband and I set out to find FernRock Retreat and take advantage of this opportunity!
We set off on our journey on such a beautiful summer evening, open to enjoy however it played out.
Arriving at FernRock we felt the stillness of the warm air as we became immersed in the beauty of nature and its quiet sounds. John warmly welcomed us and I immediately felt his genuine spirit. The three of us shared pleasantries as John led us to the labyrinth he designed and built. Walking the labyrinth I found such peace and calmness being mindful of this ancient meditation practice. Please take a look at the picture included, particularly the tree stumps in the center allowing one to rest and find peace before returning back to the entrance. As the sun set, candles were lit and it was such a beautiful site!
A special part of the evening came after walking the labyrinth. Conversation was easy as we got to know each other, feeling comfortable sharing parts of our lives. The labyrinth experience has become very special to me and to be able to share that with Sandy and John, I am thankful! Of course being proud of my E.S.C.A.P.E. PATH® design, I was pleased to introduce my unique finger labyrinth to them. Sandy is a pastor and Spiritual Director, while John is a therapist and Spiritual Director also. I truly value their positive feedback and interest in E.S.C.A.P.E. PATH®.
I am sure our paths will cross again. A very special evening!
